The First 20 Minutes: The Final Stage, was a really enjoyable evening of three new play extracts, a great opportunity to see new plays performed by interesting casts, and an excellent chance for emerging writers to have a showcase for their work. It was great to be part of the judging panel and I hope that Writers Avenue goes from strength to strength in its championing of good new writing.

It was great being a judge. I had a fantastic time and feel Writer's Avenue's events are a great opportunity for new writers. I will be spreading the word!

The First 20 Minutes is a great initiative from the dynamic new company Writers Avenue. It helps writers hone an invaluable skill - how to hook the audience and state your theme at the beginning of a piece of drama. It was a complete pleasure to be involved.

Screenwriter & Playwright

I wouldn't be where I am in my career as a writer without my experience working with Writers Avenue. They are quite simply, a company of action. Providing you have the talent, and the commitment, they help you develop your script and get your work off the page and on the stage, in the best form it can be - which I've learned is invaluable in developing your craft.

While participating in the First 20 Minutes Competition, I had sustained support and constructive feedback at every step. It was a very invigorating experience in terms of improving my skills, as well as the exposure of having my play The Boyband on at prestigious venues like The Pleasance.

The Gossip was fantastic to be a part of, especially because the process from submitting my play to seeing it produced on stage was efficient, fused with energy, and thoroughly enjoyable. Seeing the piece grow with the actors and directors was a pleasure to experience, especially because of the quality of talent Writers Avenue brought in to perform the show.
