Application deadline: 1st September 2017
We're not one to gossip but...
we heard there would be short plays based on true stories about the “The Entertainment Industry” performed... But you didn't hear that from us.
The Gossip showcases emerging talent with stories based on real personal embarrassing, awkward, frustrating, shocking, funny, hard and crazy moments in the lives of actors, casting directors, directors, crew, producers and writers from the theatre, TV and film industry.
We keep it good-natured and polite, no real names of people or companies are used or implied and plays are loosely based on true stories submitted by the writers and the public via twitter.
Applications open until 1st September 2017. We aim to respond to all applicants by 1st November.
To apply please download and fill in the application form below and send a 10-15 minute short play partly based on a true story that has either happened to you or you have witnessed using fictional names, to submissions(at)writersavenue.co.uk
Please write 'THE GOSSIP' followed by the title of your script in the subject line.
So go on, tell us your crazy stories, we won't tell, promise, we can keep a secret... but if the gossip spreads on stage, we'll deny all knowledge of how your story got there.
Please include a title page that has your name, your contact number, your email address, your postal address and the story your play is based on.
Scripts must be 10-15 minutes in length (10-15 pages is a good guideline)
Plays must be 12 font, page numbered and in play script format.
You are welcome to include a cover letter about your writing experience.
